I told you I do this for a living… right?

Originally from Plainwell Michigan, 26 year old folk singer/songwriter Luke Woltanski spent his summers up north were he developed a love for the Traverse City and Leelanau Area music scene. Luke was classically trained in vocal performance from age 5 and taught himself to play guitar at age 13. In the same year, while in Empire, MI, Luke bought his first harmonica (a Chromatic harp in the key of C) from an estate sale. He quickly learned to play and two summers later, at only 15, Luke played his first show for an art opening at Lake Street Studios in Glen Arbor, MI. He sang and played original tunes as well as covers on harmonica and guitar. He would continue to play shows in the area until he eventually put himself through college by playing shows in the summers. Luke plays over 250 shows a year across the state of Michigan from Grand Marais to Detroit. He is a one-man band with the storytelling prowess of Harry Chapin, the Harmonica chops of Blues Traveler, and Guitar ability of James Taylor and the Piano sound of Bruce Hornsby. He has been described as an "impressive storyteller and entertainer" by Big City Rhythm and Blues Magazine, as "Northern Michigan's James Taylor" by Eagle 101.5 Radio and as a slight menace by his mother! In 2023 Luke released his fifth studio album “Mockingbird.” This album was recorded over the course of two years, and the songs tell the story of Luke’s first two years as a full time musician. Luke has no plans to return to biology as music has truly become a passion over the years. He currently has no less than five albums worth of music yet to be released, and continues to play, write, and record.
